Is 12th night on the 5th or 6th?

Twelfth Night traditionally falls on January 5th, marking the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas. However, some people also observe it on January 6th, as the holiday is connected to the Feast of Epiphany, which celebrates the arrival of the Three Wise Men to see the baby Jesus.

Here’s the distinction:

  • Twelfth Night: The night before Epiphany (January 6th). In many traditions, it is the last day of the Christmas season, and people would take down their decorations after this night.
  • Epiphany: Celebrated on January 6th, marking the visit of the Magi.

So, depending on your tradition, Twelfth Night is often observed on January 5th, but some people consider it to be the evening of January 6th, especially in connection with Epiphany.
